Back to blogging...3 Month Catch Up!

Wow-- the gap in blogging was way longer than I anticipated! We are definately in a new season...and so I started a new blog to keep up with the life of our little family. 2 weeks ago I woke up one morning, as I do many mornings, with Karis crammed between eric and I in our full sized bed. You know your kid is sleeping with you when you wake up holing onto the edge of the bed! Thus the title for our blog- "Life on the Edge of the Bed". Lot's of things change when you have children - sleep is definately one of them...You learn though to go with whatever comes and make the best of it! Those mornings when I wake up on the edge of the bed, about to fall off, sore from the balancing act, I remember to try and enjoy the small moments that make life LIFE. She'll only be little once. I am learning to embrace life on the edge of the bed.

I feel like I have so much to say but few words to describe all that has happened over the last several months since our move from Alabama back to Virginia. The first week we were back in VA we found out that we were expecting our second baby! That was a complete out of nowhere surprise...one that we have happily embraced! We can't wait to meet this new little lady in April. We have spent the last several months in the home buying process-- which has been far from enjoyable. After over 90 days in closing, we FINALLY closed the last week of November. Our plans to be moved in and settled before Christmas have somewhat gone up in smoke, but again life on the edge of the bed is about making the best of what comes. God has a greater plan and purpose than I can see--and His way is always better-- although I find myself impatient at times in the process. In the meantime, we are living with my parents in the spare bedroom, that was my room growing up.

In all of our spare time, which is every evening and all weekend, we are working on the house: ripping down wallpaper, pulling up carpet, painting cabinets and walls, redoing the floors and the list goes on! We are close to being finished --then we will be able to move in withh all of our things, that are in storage. We will be happy when the day arrives that everything is unpacked and we can sleep in our new house. There is definately something to be said about having your own space.

Eric is working at a sprinkler company in Richmond, which is an answer to prayer. God has shown himself so faithful to be our provider and now to have given eric a great job. We are so thankful!

The transition back to VA has been a somewhat bumpy one, but God is so faithful. He is our sustainer and perfect leader. I am so thankful that He already knows the way and He leads me on.
